School Council
St Saviour's School Council
St Saviour's School Council meets regularly with Miss Burke. We gather opinions from our classes about what they like about our school and suggestions for changes to make it even better. We discuss these at our meetings with Miss Burke.
School Councillors
Our School Council elections have taken place and we now have a fantastic group of new representatives from Y2-6! Pupils took part in writing and presenting a speech to their class and a real voting process took place. They showed great enthusiasm and understanding of democracy in action.
Councillors are responsible for making sure that decisions agreed at our meetings are carried out.

St Saviour's school council will...
- Listen to other children's ideas and concerns and share them at council meetings to help make St Saviour's an ever better school.
- Share our own ideas and thoughts during council meetings.
- Make decisions and take actions that help achieve the school’s vision and values.
- Suggest ways to make classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas cleaner, safer and more welcoming.
- Encourage fairness, kindness, and respect for everyone.
- Keep children in the school informed about council activities, decisions, and opportunities.
- Motivate classmates to join in school clubs, events and other exciting initiatives.
- Be a role model for St Saviour's.
- Present key issues and talk about important events during whole school assemblies.
January update
School council representatives discussed with their class what they are enjoying at St Saviours and how we could make St Saviour's an even better school. Following on from this, the school council met and noted down suggested improvements which we will consider during the half-term and we celebrated the positive comments children made.
Pupil voice at St Saviours tells us that children:
- like the displays around the school because they look nice and make them feel safe and happy.
- enjoy the after-school clubs on offer and also like how they change each half-term so that everyone has a chance to sign up to a club that interests them.
- love having swimming lessons at school.
- like all the teachers.
- enjoy playing with the loose parts. Now that it has moved on to the playground, children think having a limited number of children at one time keeps it safe and fun.

On Tuesday 11th November 2025, School Council shared an assembly to remind others about Armistice Day and how we remember those who have fought in wars. They sold poppies during break times to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

We raised £102.34!
